Liu Li is an artist from the Manchurian province of Liaoning, and a graduate of the Central Academy of Art in Beijing.

One of his tutors there, the artist Song Jin Sheng has expressed his strongly held view that Liu Li is more talented than himself, and that as he continues to grow through experience and study, he has the potential to become one of China's major contemporary artists.
