Ai Xin Jue Luo Pu Zuo

Born in 1918, Pu Zuo is the great grandson of the Emperor Dao Guang and was a Prince of the Imperial Family of the Qing dynasty.

First cousin to Pu Yi, the last Emperor of China, Pu Zuo is one of China's most famous living painters in the classical tradition.

His first exhibition was held in Beijing in 1937; a subsequent exhibition of his fan paintings in Tianjin in 1944 sold out.

Pu Zuo's collected works were published in 1984, and in 1986 he was honoured by the Chinese Department of Arts and the Ministry of Culture when his work was selected for inclusion in a UNESCO publication presenting China's most important living artists.

Ai Xin Jue Luo Pu Zuo formally retired from painting in 1988; his works are extremely difficult to locate and secure, and are keenly sought after.
