A member of the Chinese Fine Arts Association, the northern Chinese artist Zhao Bao Ju graduated from the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts in 1978, and subsequently earned a higher degree in Chinese Traditional Art from Nankai University.

A respected painter of traditional Bird and Flower paintings and other traditional themes, he has won special acclaim recently for his original landscape works on the theme of the river and lake regions of the lower reaches of the Yangtse River.
