Zhu Jun

Born in Cangzhou, Hebei Province in 1946 into a family of renowned painters, Zhu Jun studied painting from an early age. 

His initial formal training was under the Master Li Hanqi, and he subsequently entered the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts.

His work has been described by critics as being characterized by profound artistic conception delicate brushwork, exquisite details and vivid expressions.

Between 1995 and 1998, Zhu Jun completed an acclaimed series of traditional scroll studies of the women of China's ethnic minority groups, from the Uighur people in the far north-west of China to the Han in the east, and the Li in the tropical far south.
